One essay entry per law school is allowed. Each entry must be submitted through a designated faculty adviser. Any student currently enrolled in an accredited law school may submit a legal essay on a topic provided. An intent-to-enter form must be filed to submit a student essay for national judging. Entrants from Fall semester classes must submit the intent-to-enter form by mid December. Entrants from Spring semester classes must submit the intent to enter form by mid February. Students participating in the competition outside of a class assignment may use either intent-to-enter date. Four copies of the student essay and 100-word abstract describing the paper must be received by the end of March. The scholarships range from $1,000 to $2,000.
