PILI hosts non-remunerated internships for students wishing to gain experience in the promotion of human rights and public interest law in Europe and Asia.
Internships are normally ten to twelve weeks in length, and are offered in summer (June-August), autumn (late September-December) and winter/spring (late January-mid April).
Interns can expect to work on one or more of the following PILI programs:
* Legal Aid Reform
* Legal Education Reform
* Promoting Pro Bono
* NGO Advocacy Training
Interns are selected based on the following considerations:
* Demonstrated commitment to public interest law and human rights principles;
* Achieving complementarity between the areas of internship interests with PILI’s needs;
* Knowledge of one or more language(s) of the countries where PILI programs are being implemented;
* Other relevant skills or experience.
Applications for PILI internships are accepted and decided upon on a rolling basis, within the following guidelines:
Application submission deadlines:
For Summer Internships: - No later than February preceding the internship period
For Autumn Internships: - No later than July preceding the internship period
For Spring Internships: - No later than December preceding the internship period
Early submission of applications is highly encouraged.
Students wishing to intern at PILI should submit (preferably by e-mail) :
* A cover letter describing your interest to intern at PILI, including specific program areas and/or projects on which you would like to work, relevant theoretical and/or practical experience, as well as the specific time period of your proposed internship. Your letter should also make clear your understanding that the internship is non-remunerated, and should identify external sources of funding for the internship.
