In addition to a scholarship, each winner will be brought to the 2008 National Federation of the Blind Annual Convention in July at federation expense.
Eligibility: All applicants for these scholarships must be legally blind and pursuing, or planning to pursue, a full-time, post-secondary course of study in a degree program at a U.S. institution in the 2008 scholastic year, except that one scholarship may be given to a person employed full-time while attending school part-time.

Abstract: Each year at its national convention, the National Federation of the Blind presents a broad array of scholarships to recognize the achievements of blind scholars. The Howard Brown Rickard Scholarship is presented annually to students studying or planning to study in the fields of law, medicine, engineering, architecture, or the natural sciences.
