The J.W. Saxe Memorial Prize for Public Service

A prize of $1,500 will be awarded to one or more college or university students involved in public service. The award is meant to enable the student to gain practical experience in public service by taking a no-pay or low-pay job or internship during a summer or other term.

Preference will be given to applicants who have already found such a position, but who require additional funds.

Applicant’s Qualifications:
- undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university
- seeking support for an internship in public service, not general support
- demonstrated public service activity – past, present and/or future
- financial need will be taken into consideration

To apply, applicants should send a resume with an essay describing short and long-term goals, as well as the need for funds, along with four letters of reference (at least one from a faculty member) to:
